Pizza dough is an extremely important part of pizza making. This is
important because , it is like the foundation of a house which will not be
stable if the foundation is not strong. Similarly, if the pizza base is not
strong, the pizza will fall flat on its face!
So let’s get started, to make pizza dough you need to have the following
list of items:
Two and a quarter spoon of Active Dry yeast,
One and half Cups - Warm water in around
110°F to 115°F temperature range.
Four Cups of Bread flour
One and a half tea spoon of Salt
Two table spoon of Extra virgin olive oil
One tablespoon of Sugar
A little extra flour and extra olive oil
Let’s start with the process now. First pour the warm water that was
contained, into a large mixing bowl. Then, pour all the sugar in the water and
stir till it dissolves. Also, add yeast into the solution and stir continuously
after addition. Let the mixture settle down for ten minutes until the yeast
becomes active in the solution. Then, add yeast along with olive oil to the
solution when it turns foamy and cloudy.
After you are done with the above steps, proceed with adding the three cups
of flour you had, in to the mixture on a cone cup basis. Continuously whisk it
till it dissolves. Make sure that the mixture is completely smooth in texture
and also make the dough soft by using your hands to press it to a lump.
After the flour has absorbed all moisture, remove the dough to a tabletop that
is floured well so that you can continue to knead it better. Do the kneading
process for around 10 to 12 minutes. It is very important that the dough is
very well kneaded. After this step, you are left with panning the dough in a
pizza pan.
You can either hand toss the pizza dough if you are good at catching it, or
it would be better if you can just hand press it in a pan or roll the pizza
dough gently. And wellah!! Your pizza dough is ready!
